OMG.

So my mom and I passed by a thing on the freeway on the way to Santa Barbara.

"I bet it's some ridiculous hostage situation where someone is killing someone else."
"No, maybe it's a bomb threat."
"Dude, I'm telling you."

So I google it just now..

One man is dead and another is in custody this morning after a fight between a driver and passenger on Interstate 680 in Fremont ended with a victim stabbed several times, police said.
Police from three agencies are still at the scene on northbound Interstate 680 at the Vargas Road exit and traffic through the area is moving at a slower-than-normal pace. It is expected to be that way for most of the day as officers investigate the incident, Fremont police Sgt. Jeff Swadener said.

Details of the stabbing, the city's second homicide of the year, remain sketchy as three witnesses are being interviewed by Fremont detectives.

The victim remains beneath a yellow tarp in a grove of trees at the Vargas exit, while the suspect is in the custody of California Highway Patrol Officers at a rock quarry more than a mile away.

The victim, who has not been identified, suffered multiple puncture wounds, the sergeant said. Police have not released what type of weapon was used.

One lane of the three-lane freeway has been closed for the investigation, which started just before 10 a.m.
